Evanston Police Make Arrest in Sexual Assault Investigation

Evanston Police this past weekend investigated a report that a 15 year old female victim alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a 20 year old boy after hanging out with friends and consuming alcohol in the 1700 block of Brown Ave.

The 15 year old victim reported the incident to her mother after arriving at home on Friday night, January 20th at approx. 11:15PM. Evanston Police Juvenile Bureau investigators picked up the investigation and were able to locate a suspect on scene where the incident took place. Further investigation revealed that the victim was in the company of friends along with the suspect and other male acquaintances while consuming alcohol and after some time had passed, the victim accompanied the suspect alone to his vehicle. The victim at this time alleges the suspect had forced himself on the victim to have sexual intercourse.

Evanston Police subsequent to conducting this investigation, located a loaded handgun within the suspect's vehicle. The handgun was not used in the alleged sexual assault and after reviewing the police investigation, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the below listed charges on the suspect. The suspect, is now identified as Gerard McGregor M/B/20 of Chicago.
