New Life Given to Old Garbage Carts with Compost Pilot Program
This summer, the Evanston Public Works Department started the Evanston Compost Pilot Program and re-purposed 95-gallon garbage carts by turning them into compost containers. To date, the City has distributed approximately 500 compost carts and compost guides, which can be downloaded from the city’s website.

The city is conducting a survey to obtain feedback from those who are participating in the pilot program, as well as other residents who are also composting. Complete the short on-line survey to provide your feedback. Survey feedback will be used to guide the city’s future programs and information related to composting in Evanston.
