Voter Registration Deadline for Spring Elections Feb. 21
The last day to register to vote or change voter registration is February 21 in order to vote in the March 20 General Primary Election. If you have changed your name or moved since the last election, you are required to change your voter registration.
To register to vote, you must a U.S. citizen; at least 18 years old by Election Day; and a resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day. You also must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address. Acceptable forms of ID include: Illinois driver's license; Illinois state ID; employee or student ID; credit card; Social Security card; birth certificate; utility bill in applicant's name; mail postmarked to the applicant; valid U.S. passport; Public Aid ID card; or a lease or rental contract.

Evanston City Clerk's Office
The City Clerk, Evanston's local election official, can register voters during normal business hours. The Clerk's office is located on the first floor of the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed daily from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.).

By Mail to the County Clerk's Office
You can complete a mail-in voter application form here>>> and return it to the Cook County Clerk's office. The Clerk's office can also mail you an application form by calling 312/603-0906.
First-time voters who register by mail no longer have to vote in person the first time they vote. They can either vote in person or vote absentee by mail. When submitting a voter registration application:

League of Women Voters Registration Drive at EPL
Deputy Registrars from the Evanston League of Women Voters will be on hand at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave., from noon until 3 p.m. to register voters on February 4, 11 and 18. The deadline to change voter registration is February 21 for the March 20 General Primary Elections. If you change your name or have moved since the last election, you must update your voter registration. See above for required forms of ID.
