Evanston Police Arrest Three Chicago Teens for Car Burglary
On February 16, 2012 at approx. 1:50AM, Evanston Police officers on patrol in the area of Asbury St. and Oakton Ave. conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. During the course of the stop, officers were able to determine that the three occupants in the vehicle had committed a car burglary in Evanston. Further police investigation determined that three more car burglaries in Evanston also occurred. Police located two cars entered in the 1100 block of Monroe St, and two other vehicles being entered. One vehicle in the 600 block of Elmwood Ave and the other vehicle in the 900 block of Seward Ave.
Officers recovered the following stolen proceeds during their investigation. A set of golf clubs, a cassette recorder, a Samsung cell phone, sunglasses, a coat, numerous phone chargers, an air compressor, clothing, an equipment bag, video gaming accessories, miscellaneous change and a wallet as result of their investigation.
The below listed occupants of the vehicle were all charged with four counts of burglary and one charge of criminal damage to property after detectives were able to determine what items came from each of the four vehicles. The driver, Andres Flores was also charged with an additional traffic violation. All court information is listed below.
