Access to Fishing Begins May 5

Access to Fishing kicks off May 5 and runs through September 29, 2012
Youth age 5-15 are invited to fish from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday, May 5 through September 29, 2012, at Lovelace Park, Gross Point Road at Thayer St. Equipment, bait and fishing expertise is provided free of charge!

Just drop by; no license is needed for those under age 16. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. This program is managed by staff from the Evanston Ecology Center. The State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) sponsors Access to Fishing.

Mark your calendar for 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 for the "Fishing Frenzy" program! In addition to the usual fun activities, there will be casting workshops, giveaways and snacks. The City of Evanston Parks and Recreation Board is sponsoring the Fishing Frenzy activities.
