The Evanston Public Library will offer programs designed to help people more effectively manage their money. Whether you are starting a small business or looking to buy a new home, there are several tips that you will gain by attending Money Smart Week at the Library from April 21-28, 2012.
As part of the 10th anniversary of Money Smart Week, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago has teamed up with more than 250 partner organizations, including the Evanston Public Library. The mission is to educate consumers about money management as well as generate awareness of financial education programs on topics such as saving, using credit wisely and financial education.
Reference Librarian Kathleen Lanigan said, “I’m happy that we’ve been able to bring together a week full of experts. Programs are geared towards new or even seasoned investors, people struggling with credit card debt, small business owners or anyone interested in better understanding and coping with some of today’s most pressing financial management issues.”
All Money Smart Programs will be held in the Community Meeting Room on the first floor of the Main Library, 1703 Orrington Avenue. Registration is requested, but not required. Walk-ins are welcome.
