Groundbreaking for Focus Development at Ridge Ave. & Clark St.

Posted on Thursday May 03, 2012

The Focus Development, located at Clark St. and Ridge Ave.,  held a groundbreaking ceremony at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 with Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl and Alderman Peter Braithwaite (2rd Ward).

The development will consist of a 175 unit rental development next to the two condo buildings that are part of the originally planned four-condo building development, known as the Sienna Development. This vacant parcel has been a blighting influence on the two existing condo buildings and the Ridge Avenue corridor. This site's redevelopment and the construction of this attractive rental housing will revitalize the immediate neighborhood.

The Focus property will be available for rental and will be compatible in design and materials with the existing two buildings. Focus has agreed to provide nine affordable units in the proposed building consistent with NSP2 income limits and iwll share 50% of the cost of resurfacing Oak and Clark Streets. Additionally, Focus will comply with the City's recently adopted Green Building Ordinance, which was not required of the two existing condo buildings.
