Food Truck Fest & Starlight Concert - A Big Success
The City of Evanston hosted its second annual Food Truck Fest in the 8th Ward’s Brummel Park Thursday night. The event, paired with the Starlight Concert performance of Andre Williams and the Gold Stars, generated a crowd of over 600 people to the park and adjacent playground area to enjoy great food and music on a warm summer evening.
Five food trucks participated in the fest including Hummingbird Kitchen, Tamale Spaceship, Sweet Ride Chi, Taquero Fusion and 5411 Empanadas. Food offerings were quite popular with the attendees, with various trucks serving lines of people 40 or more in number throughout the course of the event.
8th Ward Alderman Ann Rainey stated that “The Brummel Park Annual Food Truck Fest and Concert is one of those events that invites everyone, and where all have a wonderful time!”

With regard to upcoming events, Alderman Rainey also noted that Sing-Along Grease will be the featured movie in Brummel Park on Saturday, August 25th and asked that residents mark their calendars for Bike the Ridge on Saturday, September 30th.
