The information sessions will provide an introduction to E2P, which assists nonprofits by identifying areas of potential energy savings and facilitating the implementation of energy-saving programs through financial aid and staff support. Ultimately, E2P significantly lowers energy bills and saves money on utilities, freeing up funds to advance the missions of non-profit and religious organizations.
E2P was developed by IFF, a leading nonprofit community development financial institution that strengthens nonprofits and their communities through lending and real estate consulting. With total assets of $225 million, IFF is able to help nonprofits finance, plan and build facilities that are critical to their missions and successes. A detailed description of E2P can be found here.
A key goal of the Evanston Climate Action Plan is to assist Evanston organizations reduce their energy usage and contribute to the city’s goal of a 13 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2012. The City and ECF are collaborating with IFF on E2P because the program provides hands-on, technical support to nonprofit and religious organizations for the whole project lifecycle—including assessment, financing and implementation. This program is ideal for organizations that own their own space or operate under a long-term lease.
Representatives from Evanston non-profit and religious organizations are invited to attend a complimentary information session to learn how E2P can help curb costs and energy use at their institutions. Space is limited, so please RSVP by Wednesday, August 8 to Catherine Hurley at sustainability@cityofevanston.org or (847) 448-8069.
