Evanston Arts Corner: The Musical Offering

Posted on Thursday Aug 30, 2012

The Musical Offering is a musical home for beginners to bloom and for more experienced musicians to explore their craft. Their projects include investments in local schools, and partnerships with arts organizations equally committed to making music more accessible to all. In 2007, The Musical Offering won the Evanston Mayor’s Award for the Arts for their history as an arts incubator and the quality of their programming.

This fall, they will host their 2012 Fall Gala Fundraiser, a beautiful night of Renaissance-inspired music accompanied by hors d’ouevres and cocktails as well as a chance to purchase a Piano Key in support of their new space. For ticket information, visit www.themusicaloffering.org

Founded by Kirsten Hedegaard and Rick Ferguson in 1999, the school has well over 125 students and more than one dozen faculty members. Students, from preschoolers to retirees, reflect Evanston’s racial, ethnic, and income diversity. The group and private class offerings continue to grow and are responsive to student requests. The MO offers scholarships for students who need financial assistance.
