Evanston 9/11 Ceremony to be Held at Fireman's Park

The Evanston Fire and Police Departments will hold a memorial ceremony to honor the brave men and women who lost their lives tragically in the attacks of September 11, 2001. The city also will recognize the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have lost their lives, as well as honor those who continue to fight the war on terror.

The memorial service will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Fireman’s Park, located at the corner of Simpson Street and Maple Avenue.

This will be a 30-minute ceremony of remembrance. The presenters will be:

.     Introduction by Fire Chief Greg Klaiber
.     Mayor Elizabeth B. Tisdahl
.     Presentation of Colors by members of the Police and Fire Honor guards
.     Fire Chaplain David Jones
.     Firefighter/Paramedic Jason Hays, “Fireman’s Prayer”
.     Captain Jeffrey Boetto, “Bell Ceremony”

The public is encouraged to attend.
