Holiday Light Recycling Continues Until Jan. 31
Did you know that holiday lights can be recycled? If your holiday lights have lost their twinkle, recycle them this year with a program supported by the City of Evanston, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County and Elgin Recycling. Holiday lights can be dropped off for recycling at the Evanston Ecology Center, the Main Evanston Library and the Levy Senior Center.
Holiday lights that will be accepted for this program are: mini-lights (or Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights and extension cords. Garlands, live greens and wreaths are not accepted in this free program. The holiday light recycling program will begin on December 1, 2012 and run through January 31, 2013.
