"Day in the Life" Photo Contest Returns for Winter Season

Posted on Thursday Feb 06, 2014

The City of Evanston will hold its last “Day in the Life of Evanston” photo contest this winter after the first significant snowfall in February following this announcement. The exact date of the contest will be determined by weather forecasts that call for more than two inches of snowfall. To ensure that you are notified, sign up for the “photo contest” list here. The City invites local professional and amateur photographers of all ages and expertise levels to help capture the beauty of Evanston across all spectrums throughout the span of a winter day.

Be it a snowball fight between neighbors or enjoying a cup of hot cocoa at a local café, residents are invited to share their interpretations of what it means to live in Evanston.

The winter “Day in the Life” photo contest will be the final installment in the seasonal series. Photos must be submitted no later than three weeks after the announced contest date at www.cityofevanston.org/dayinthelife. The top 32 photos will be selected to be part of the City’s “Day in the Life of Evanston, Winter 2014 Edition” printed photo book, which will be made available for purchase, and showcased on the City’s Instagram page. All submitted photos will be posted on the City of Evanston's website.

In addition, a photo book showcasing the best photos from all four seasons of Evanston’s “Day in the Life” series will be made available for purchase following the winter contest. To see photos from previous seasons, click here.
