Food Truck Fest & Live Music July 15 at Brummel Park
The City of Evanston’s annual Food Truck Fest and Starlight Concert comes to Brummel Park on Tuesday, July 15 with delectable delights from eight truck trucks and the music of The Rhythm Rockets, a dynamic Chicago-based band.
Come early and come hungry to experience the latest dining trend: Food Trucks! Starting at 5:30 p.m., community members can purchase food from Hummingbird Kitchen, The Tamale Spaceship, Sweet Ride, Taquero Fusion, 5411 Empanadas, and new for 2014: Chicago Cupcake, Grill Chasers and Pierogi Wagon.
From original compositions to matchless arrangements of vintage classics, the Rhythm Rockets deliver danceable, high-energy music that appeals to audiences of all ages. Their brand of vintage Rhythm & Blues includes songs influenced by the sax-driven bands of the late 1940s and early 1950s. The concert will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“I am thrilled to be celebrating the fourth year of the Food Truck Festival at the Starlight Concert at Brummel Park. We have added three new food trucks this year and it is always a celebration of great food and music," said Evanston Alderman Ann Rainey (8th Ward).
Free Starlight Concerts are presented every summer by the City of Evanston. The 2014 series features 13 outdoor concerts at seven park locations throughout the city. All performances are free to the public.
