Parking in Evanston is truly at a premium! The enforcement of ordinances relating to parking have been resident driven over the last few years.
Parking Ticket Fine Increases Effective on April 1, 2012
Ordinance 115-0-11 will increase fines on various parking violations. The FY2012 proposed budget recommended that the initial parking violation fines be increased by $5. This ordinance does not impact the $10 expired meter fine and late penalties. I
Additionally, there are no fine increases for State Registration violation fines of $25, and disabled violation fines of $250 and penalties of $100. The increases are set to take effect April 1, 2012. This was introduced at City Council on December 12, 2011 with expected approval on January 9, 2012. Several petitions for increased enforcement have been submitted to ensure residential permit parking is followed and spaces in the congested downtown area become available in a timely manner.

What should I do if I get a parking ticket?
Pay or contest the ticket within 10 days upon receiving to avoid a late fee.
How can I pay for a parking ticket?
- By mail: Send a check or money order along with the ticket in the envelope provided to: City of Evanston, Citation Processing Center, P.O. Box 3214, Milwaukee, WI 53201-3214.
- In person: Visit the City Collector's Office on the first floor of the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave. We accept cash, check, money order, or credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover or American Express.) You may also use the 24 hour Depository Box located on the west side of the building. Payments made at the Depository Box after 10:30 am will be credited on the next business day.
- By phone: with credit card. Have your credit card and citation or docket number (which can be found on the ticket) ready and call 1-888-232-9326.

Are there payment plans?
There are no payment plans available to pay parking tickets.
What if I feel the violation has been issued in error?
You may contest the parking ticket. You have 10 days from the date of issuance to contest.
