The Levy Senior Center is perfect for your special event, whether it’s a birthday party, bridal or baby shower, bar or bat mitzvah, or wedding reception.

The Center is accessible, has plenty of parking and is surrounded by the beauty of James Park. There are several room sizes available, including the garden courtyard, which is in bloom from spring through fall. Note regarding fees listed: The Evanston resident rate is for residents of the 60201 & 60202 ZIP codes.

Courtyard Garden

The Hulda B. and Maurice L. Rothschild Enabling Garden in the central open courtyard creates a bright and close-to-nature feeling. The beautiful flowers, colorful raised beds and dramatic container gardens make this a tranquil setting to host smaller gatherings. The water feature enhances the garden by bringing in the natural elements of water and stone. The sound of trickling water has long been known to soothe and relax the spirit.

The garden is available on Fridays from 5pm-midnight; Saturdays, 9am-midnight and Sundays from 9am-11pm. The fee is $125/hour for Evanston residents and $175/hour for nonresidents. There is a 52-person maximum capacity for seating with tables and chairs. The Garden was made possible by a major grant from the Hulda B. and Maurice L. Rothschild Foundation.

Room Information

The Levy Center has a room for every occasion. Consider the possibilities: wedding ceremonies, wedding rehearsals, wedding receptions, anniversary parties, retirement parties, children's birthday parties with live entertainment, Cotillion/ Quinceaneras, baptism celebrations, bar/bat mitzvahs, bridal or baby showers, small business meetings, bible study and large group dinners.

Serving food? The Levy Center kitchen was designed specifically to make catered events run smoothly. You may bring in the caterer of your choice. The kitchen is adjacent to the Maple Room.

Linden Room

The room is available on Fridays from 5pm-midnight, Saturdays, 9am-midnight and Sundays from 9am-11pm. However, music must stop at 11pm.

The fee is $60/hr for Evanston residents and $120/hr for nonresidents.

There is an 88-person maximum capacity for seating with tables and chairs. There is a 120-person maximum capacity if only chairs are used. The room-set up with chairs and rectangular tables is included in your rental fee. This room has vinyl tile flooring.

Maple Room

The room is available on Fridays from 5pm-midnight, Saturdays, 9am-midnight and Sundays from 9am-11pm. However, music must stop at 11pm.

The fee is $200/hr for Evanston residents and $400/hr for nonresidents.

There is a 300-person maximum capacity for seating with tables and chairs and 300-person maximum capacity with chairs only. The kitchen is adjacent to the Maple Room. The room set-up with chairs and 72” round tables is included in your rental fee. Buffet tables are also included. This room has wood floors and translucent fiberglass walls (a showcase for natural light). This room is perfect for dinner and dancing at your event.

Will there be a theatrical component to your event?

The Maple Room also has a stage equipped with a handicap lift to enhance your theatrical performance. The acoustics and lighting are great in this space. The photo at right shows the view from the stage.

Elm/Locust Rooms

The fee is $40/hr for Evanston residents and $80/hr for nonresidents

There is a 24-person maximum capacity for seating with tables and chairs; 30-person maximum capacity with chairs only. The room set-up with chairs and card tables is included in your rental fee. This room has vinyl tile flooring.

Additional equipment/service fees

Maple room microphone system: $25; Portable sound system: $25; Podium: $20;

TV/DVD/VCR: $25; Upright piano: $20; Dry erase board: $10

Payment

A signed rental contract and a refundable deposit are required to secure a room. The deposit fee varies by room. The balance of the rental fees will be due two weeks prior to the scheduled rental date. Payments may be made by cash, check or major credit card.
