Attend a film screening of "Cooked" followed by a panel discussion tackling some of Evanston's most pressing issues on Thursday, February 27, 6 p.m., at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
"Cooked" examines the 1995 Chicago heat wave, the people most affected, and how equity and resilience are related. Panelists include Rev. Deborah Scott, MDiv., MPA, pastor of Ebenezer AME Church; Tiffany McDowell, PhD, YWCA Evanston/North Shore; and Jane Grover, chair of the City's Equity and Empowerment Commission.
