Downtown Farmers' Market Season is Here
The Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market will open for its 42nd season on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
The market, located at University Place and Oak Avenue, will be held every Saturday through November 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking is available in the 1800 Maple Self Park Garage with ticket validation at the City of Evanston tent.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive to the market hungry, as food will be sold on site. This season, up to 58 vendors will sell a wide variety of goods, including fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese, milk, eggs and bakery items. LINK cards are accepted.
Children ages 2 to 12 years can receive free membership to the market’s Spud Club tent and enjoy a variety of farm-related activities throughout the season. The Spud Club is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and is located in the southwest corner of the market.
Market visitors can also view and purchase works from community artists as part of the market’s Homegrown Artists program. Artist participation is limited to Evanston residents, employees of Evanston businesses, and participants at Evanston studios and galleries.
