Apply to Evanston's Cultural Fund Grant Program by February 9

eac_smallLocal artists and arts organizations are invited to apply for the City of Evanston’s Cultural Fund Grant Program. The Cultural Fund supports artistic excellence throughout the community by providing financial assistance to not-for-profit arts organizations and projects. 

Applications must be submitted online at cityofevanston.org/culturalfund by Friday, February 9, 2018 at 5 p.m. Those who would like to have their work reviewed and receive suggestions prior to the final submission date should submit their application by the Friday, January 19 early review submission deadline.

The City of Evanston’s Arts Council will be awarding approximately $30,000 in grants in three categories: Grants to Organizations, awards up to $4,000; Special Programs and Projects, awards up to $4,000; and Individual Artist Projects, awards up to $2,000. Applicants may only apply for one of the grant categories. All projects must take place in Evanston in order to successfully qualify for a grant.

All applicants are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming free Cultural Fund Grant Workshops:

  • Thursday, January 4, 2 p.m., Morton Civic Center, Room 2404, 2100 Ridge Ave.
  • Monday, January 8, 6 p.m., Morton Civic Center, Room 2404, 2100 Ridge Ave.

The Cultural Fund Grant application must be completed and submitted online. This will make it easier for applicants to submit financial reporting records and save their progress throughout the application process.

Evanston’s vision for its Cultural Fund Grant Program is to activate the extraordinary assets of the community to develop Evanston as an arts hub and destination. This fund is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
