Ald. Fleming Appointed to NLC Council for Race, Equity and Leadership (REAL)
Evanston 9th Ward Ald. Cicely Fleming has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Council for Race, Equity and Leadership (REAL).
REAL is an NLC initiative to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of local elected officials to eliminate racial disparities, heal racial divisions, and build more equitable communities. As a member of the REAL Council, Ald. Fleming will have the opportunity to share her expertise and insights to help achieve REAL's mission.
"I am excited to be chosen as a member of the National League of Cities REAL Council," said Ald. Fleming. "I look forward to helping Evanston develop and implement an equity plan that uses proven strategies from other REAL Council members. This is a great opportunity to bring the best in thought to Evanston and show our residents that Evanston can be a Midwestern leader in Municipal Equity."
