Work Out with EPD at 'Five-0 Fitness'
UPDATE 10-3-18: Location changed to 2306 Main St. due to weather. Registration is now closed.
Evanston residents can work up a sweat with officers of the Evanston Police Department and local fitness trainers as part of "Five-0 Fitness," a new community outreach initiative.
Modeled after the department's "Coffee with a Cop" series, "Five-0 Fitness" provides a casual setting for community members to meet police officers and build community relationships. The program includes a 60-minute workout followed by healthy eating tips and an opportunity to chat with police officers.
The first "Five-0 Fitness" event will take place on Saturday, October 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In anticipation of the expected rain this weekend, the event location has been moved to Main Event Boxing & Fitness at 2306 Main St. There is plenty of free parking along the east side of the building. Enter through the rear entrance. Evanston’s finest will be there to greet you and welcome you to our newest and most energetic outreach program.
The event will feature a workout with Albert Ferguson, owner of The Fitness Matrix. Ferguson specializes in strength conditioning and functional fitness.
Registration for this event is now closed due to overwhelming demand. The cost of the program is $10, payable at the event. Participants are encouraged to bring water and a towel.
