2018 Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

Thanksgiving_webThe City of Evanston has announced changes in service delivery and facility hours in recognition of the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday.

Refuse Collection 
No collections will occur on Thursday, November 22. Thursday's trash, yard waste and recycling collections will occur on Friday, November 23. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Saturday, November 24.

311 
The 311 Service Center will be closed Thursday, November 22, and will be open for regular hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday, November 23.

Facilities

  • The Morton Civic Center will be closed November 22 through 25.
  • All Evanston Public Library locations will be closed November 22.
  • The Robert Crown Center will be closed November 22. The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Gibbs-Morrison Center, Levy Senior Center and Noyes Cultural Arts Center will be closed November 22 and 23. The Chandler-Newberger Community Center and Evanston Ecology Center will be closed November 22 through 25.

Parking 
Thanksgiving is a City of Evanston parking holiday. In addition, from Saturday, November 24 through Saturday, January 5, Evanston shoppers can have their parking validated at participating Evanston businesses with a qualifying purchase. Validation can be used for free two-hour parking at City meters, lots and garages on weekdays, from 5 p.m. to midnight, and all day on Saturdays. Shoppers parking at City meters and lots must use the Park Evanston mobile app in order to redeem validation. Parking is free at City meters, lots and garages on Sundays.
