City Launches Interactive Yard Sale Map
Community members and bargain hunters alike can locate upcoming yard sales in Evanston using the City’s new, interactive yard sale map, the City of Evanston announced today.
The easy-to-navigate tool, available at cityofevanston.org/yardsale, is a valuable resource for residents looking for bargains, as well as yard sale hosts who’d like to spread the word to potential shoppers.
To list a yard sale, applicants must complete a yard sale permit application at least two days in advance of their yard sale date. The City recommends providing as much advance notice as possible to notify potential shoppers. Yard sale permits and map listings are provided by the City at no cost to residents.
The City’s online yard sale application, available at cityofevanston.org/yardsale, enables applicants to map the specific location of their sale. If the application is approved, a listing will be created to display the pin location, address, dates and times of the yard sale.
Yard sales are permitted for homes, apartments, garages and yards on residential properties. Evanston residents can host yard sales up to three consecutive days, and are allowed up to three yard sales within a 12-month period.
