Evanston celebrated the opening of Fountain Square’s new zero-depth fountain on Saturday, May 18. Children joined Mayor Stephen Hagerty and 1st Ward Alderman Judy Fiske in flipping the switch to turn on the fountain. The event also featured live entertainment, giveaways, and a bagpipe performance. Photos of the event can be found below.

In addition to the new fountain, the City's newly renovated Fountain Square includes a new Veterans memorial wall, a new community plaza south of Davis Street, a pedestrian-friendly "curbless" streetscape, street lighting improvements, traffic signal modernization, landscaping, street furniture and more.

Fountain Square is located at Sherman Avenue and Davis Street in downtown Evanston. For more information, please call/text 847-448-4311. For convenience, residents may simply dial 3-1-1 in Evanston.
