City Seeks Public Comment on Combined Sewer Rehabilitation/IEPA Categorical Exclusion
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has issued a Notice of Intent to Issue a Categorical Exclusion to the City of Evanston. The City of Evanston has applied to the IEPA Water Pollution Control Loan Program to request funding for a project to improve the reliability of the City’s sewer collection system. The project includes lining approximately 3,395 feet of 39-inch to 60-inch diameter combined sewer.
In accordance with the IEPA Loan Rules, Title 35, Subtitle C, Chapter II, Part 365.330 (State Environmental Review), the IEPA has determined that the proposed project may be excluded from a detailed environmental impacts review. The project is limited to lining of the combined sewer collection system.
The full IEPA document and project planning information are available for review online or in the City Clerk’s office at the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave., Evanston. Public comment will be accepted in the City Clerk’s office through December 24, 2019.
