City Announces 2020 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Service and Facility Schedules

MLKThe City of Evanston has announced changes in service delivery and facility schedules in recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Monday, January 20, 2020. A listing of events celebrating Dr. King can be found at cityofevanston.org/mlk.

Refuse Collection
No refuse or recycling collections will occur on Monday, January 20. Monday through Thursday collections will occur one day later in the week than usual. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Friday, January 24.

Facilities
The Morton Civic Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Noyes Cultural Arts Center, Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, Evanston Ecology Center, Robert Crown Community Center and Levy Senior Center will be closed on January 20. 

The Chandler-Newberger Center will be open for camp but will be closed for all other activities on January 20. All Evanston Public Library locations will be open.

311 Center
The City's 311 Service Center will be open for normal hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parking
Parking meters, pay stations and downtown parking garages will be free on January 20.
