City Partners with First Northern Credit Union to Provide Free Financial Wellness Education
First Northern Credit Union has been selected by the City of Evanston to lead a series of free financial wellness education workshops and seminars for Evanston residents. First Northern Credit Union (FNCU) will deliver the first series of monthly workshops beginning Wednesday, April 8.
The first series of workshops is geared toward beginners, or those who may need a financial restart. Future workshops will be geared toward seniors, families, and youth.
Due to health and safety concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, all April workshops will take place via webinar from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Webinar links will be sent to registered participants before the start of each workshop.
April Financial Workshops
April 8 - Are You Financially Healthy?
April 15 - Rebuilding After a Financial Crisis
April 22 - Understanding Credit
April 29 - Ten Steps to Financial Success
Evanston residents can register for these workshops at fncu.org/evanston or by calling FNCU at 847-332-0240 ext. 421 or 454.
Those who complete all four workshops will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement. FNCU staff will work with attendees to identify those who may need further one-on-one counseling.
First Northern Credit Union teaches the industry-leading BALANCE (fncu.balancepro.org) curriculum, which provides Evanston residents with free access to expertly-crafted financial education and resources as well as confidential, no-cost financial counseling services.
