City Announces 2024 Juneteenth Holiday Schedule

The City of Evanston has announced facility closures and service schedules for the Juneteenth holiday on Wednesday, June 19.

Refuse Collection

Collection services will not take place on recognized holidays, including Juneteenth, June 19. All waste services will be postponed by one day. 

Parking
Parking meters, pay boxes and downtown parking garages will be free on Juneteenth. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored. No street cleaning will occur on Wednesday, June 19. 

Facility Closures
The Morton Civic Center, Chandler-Newberger Center, Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, Evanston Ecology Center (temporarily closed for renovations), Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Levy Senior Center and all Evanston Public Library location will be closed Wednesday, June 19.

The 311 Service Center will be closed on Juneteenth. The 311 Center will also be closed on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16 according to its normal operating schedule. 311 is available online 24/7 at cityofevanston.org/311
