Administrative Services
The Administrative Services Department supports residents, visitors, and City departments by providing essential services that keep Evanston running smoothly. Through its three divisions (Information Technology, Facilities & Fleet Management, and Parking) the department ensures efficient operations, well-maintained assets, and reliable, accessible services across the City.
Information Technology
The Information Technology Division supports the City’s operations by managing technology systems and services that keep departments connected and efficient. IT oversees hardware and infrastructure, software and application support, telecommunications, training, and project management, with dedicated teams for GIS and Digital Services. The division also leads open data, analytics, smart city initiatives, mapping and data analysis, and website management. Their work helps enhance both internal operations and the digital experience for residents.
Facilities & Fleet Management Division
Formed in 2017, Evanston’s Facilities & Fleet Management Division brings together building and vehicle operations to work more efficiently, share resources, and safeguard City assets. The division supports over 60 municipal buildings and manages more than 700 pieces of equipment, including police and fire vehicles, construction trucks, and recreation equipment. The Facilities team helps lead capital improvements, energy-efficient and solar upgrades, emergency preparedness, and service enhancements, while the Fleet team focuses on vehicle readiness for snow and emergency response, preventive maintenance, fleet electrification, and modernizing fueling and EV charging infrastructure.
