City of Evanston CDBG Funding Applications
Public Services: Case Management Services/Safety Net Services Application
The Application for City funding for Case Management Services and Safety net Services open for new applications every 3 years. Renewal take place on an annual basis.
The application cycle for 2026 awards will be open through August 2025. Please the Application page for more information.
Applications are reviewed by the Social Services Committee; funding recommendations will be developed and sent to City Council for approval. Please check the City Calendar regularly for updates.

CDBG Public Facilities & Improvements Application
The application for funding for Public Facilities and Infrastructure Improvement projects is currently closed; for more information visit the Nonprofit Public Facilities page. Eligible applicants include nonprofit entities and City of Evanston departments for construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation (including removal of architectural barriers to accessibility), or installation of public improvements or facilities that serve primarily low and moderate income residents and are either publicly owned or owned by a nonprofit and operated so as to be open to the general public.
Housing Programs
The City of Evanston is not accepting applications for CDBG funds for housing programs or projects from non-profits or developers. However, home owners or rental property owners may be eligible for assistance through the City of Evanston Housing Rehabilitation Program, which provides financial assistance in the form of below-market rate loans for the purpose of improving the quality of Evanston's housing stock. These loans are available to approved income-eligible owner-occupants and owners of residential investment properties that are occupied primarily by income eligible households.
