1555 Ridge Avenue Planned Development

1555 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL


The applicant, Thomas Meador, submits for a Special Use for a Planned Development to construct a 5-story, 68 unit residential building with 61 parking spaces on the ground level in the R6 General Residential District.

Current Status: The Plan Commission granted a request for a continuance and voted to continue this item to the March 11, 2020 Plan Commission meeting.

Next Meeting: Plan Commission, March 11, 2020 at 7:00 PM in the James C. Lytle Council Chambers in the Morton Civic Center. 


999-1015 Howard Street Planned Development 

999-1015 Howard Street, Evanston, IL


The applicant, David Block, submits for a Special Use for a Planned Development to construct a 4-story, 73,017 square foot addition to the existing CJE Senior Life building. Addition includes 60 affordable dwelling units for seniors and 55 parking spaces, in the B2 Business District.

Current Status: The City Council voted to approve the planned development at the January 21, 2020 meeting


601 Davis Street Planned Development

601 Davis Street, Evanston, IL

Rendering - NW Perspective

The applicant, Davis Street Development Company 2015, LLC, submits a planned development application to construct a 19-story Class Aoffice building with 40 parking spaces and  4,510 SF of ground floor retail space. The proposed development will preserve the landmarked University Building at the corner of Davis Street and Chicago Avenue. To provide comments or ask questions please contact

Current Status: The Design and Project Review (DAPR) Committee voted, 9-2, to recommend approval of the proposed development with conditions.

The Legacy Planned Development

1621-1631 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, IL


The applicant, Horizon Realty Group, submits a planned development application to construct a 19-story apartment building with 240 units, 85 subterranean parking spaces, and approximately 3,540 SF of ground floor retail space. 

Current Status:  The Plan Commission voted to continue this item to the April Plan Commission meeting.

Next Meeting: Plan Commission - April 2020 in the City Council Chambers of the Morton Civic Center.

1012-1034 Chicago Avenue Potential Planned Development

    The owners of The Autobarn and Oscar Isberian Rugs shared their intentions of exploring opportunities for the redevelopment of their properties on the west side of Chicago Avenue, between Greenleaf and Lee Streets, as they reposition their businesses’ footprints on Chicago Avenue. The parcels are zoned a mix of C1a and C2, and directly abut the CTA railway embankment.

    The property owners, in partnership with the City, initiated a process to engage both the community and City staff on feedback for the site prior to the selection of a developer and determining a development project for the site. The public was invited to participate in two initial opportunities, summaries of input is provided below:
