 GROWW Model - City Webpage Version

GROWW serves as a comprehensive model for all workforce development initiatives within the city. It brings together resources, training, and support systems aimed at empowering community members and local businesses. Through strategic partnerships with educational institutions, local employers, and community-based organizations (CBOs), GROWW offers a wide array of initiatives designed to build skills, foster job creation, and support career advancement for residents of all backgrounds.

This centralized hub provides easy access to job training, career counseling, apprenticeship programs, and entrepreneurial support, ensuring that Evanston’s workforce remains competitive in a dynamic economy. Whether you’re seeking entry-level job opportunities, advancing your career, or starting a business, GROWW is your go-to resource for workforce readiness and growth.

Program Details

The GROWW workforce development program empowers job seekers despite their level of expertise or experience by facilitating the following: 

  • 12 to 16 weeks of paid, on-the-job training

  • Offering competitive, living wage pay

  • Wraparound/case management services provided throughout the program 

  • Variety of employment options and resource connectivity

  • Local, sustainable career pathway opportunities

Program Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years of age

  • Must be an Evanston Resident

  • Must have a demonstrated desire to succeed and  grow

How to apply

  1. Complete the Workforce Division Engagement Form.

  2. Schedule a meeting with the Career Development Coordinator to conduct an initial needs assessment (you will be redirected to a scheduling tool following your submission).
