Chandler-Newberger Center
The Chandler-Newberger Center is one of the City of Evanston Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department recreation centers located in northeast Evanston, just west of the Central Street El stop.
Built in 1981, the 16K square foot building is home to a full-size gymnasium, 2 multi-purpose rooms, and a racquetball court.
Including the many programs offered throughout the year at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center, the staff also manages a variety of city-wide programs conducted at 20 different sites throughout Evanston. Programs are managed at facilities including City of Evanston parks, park shelters, tennis courts, beaches, and public schools.
Chandler-Newberger staff work towards one goal, providing recreational opportunities that encourage positive self-development through learning skills, making friends and having fun.
We ask that participants in our programs complete an Information Sheet and Liability Waiver each session. Please turn this form into the front office on or before the first day of you or your child's program.
