New-Levy Center Welcome Information
Programs for seniors are held weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Programs for all ages are held in the evening and on the weekends.
The Levy Senior Center Foundation, Inc. (LSCF) supports the Levy Center in so many ways! LSCF purchases equipment to enhance programs, subsidizes several programs, maintains the Center's garden and brings area students to perform at the Fran Randall Memorial Concert Series.
The LSCF is currently sponsoring a lecture series. Click here to see more information.
The Levy Senior Center's award-winning building is located in the southeast corner of James Park. Members can participate in a wide variety of programs and classes, including computer training, health and wellness classes (ranging from low-impact aerobics to Pilates); and classes in the arts such as wood working, ceramics and drama.
The building’s architects designed the Levy Senior Center around an open courtyard in order to create a bright and close-to-nature feeling.
The Hulda B. and Maurice L. Rothschild Enabling Garden in the central courtyard (pictured at right), was made possible by a major grant from the Hulda B. and Maurice L. Rothschild Foundation. Some classes and special events are held in the courtyard, weather permitting.
Interested in the Olympics
The Levy Senior Center is home to both the Illinois Women’s and Men's Senior Olympics Basketball Teams. If you are interested in playing (they are looking for women and men age 55+), please call the Center for more information at 847-448-8250.
Levy Senior Center members stay “in the know” by reading Levy News, which is mailed to members on a quarterly basis. The newsletter includes information on trips, special events, new classes and general news. Read the May-July Newsletter.
