Evanston's official trick-or-treat hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on  October 31.


Events

Spooktacular Fright Night -October 26 Halloweencraft_600px

Join us on a frightening adventure as we take you on a stroll through our Haunted House. There will be arts and crafts activities, face painting, food and other spooktacular activities the whole family can enjoy. This event will be held at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.

Fall Fest at the Farmers' Market - October 27

Enjoy Fall Fest at the Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market! Come by the Spud Club tent on Saturday, October 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be pumpkins for the first 100 kids to decorate (age 10 & under – limit one pumpkin per kid!). Guess the weight of a giant, decorated pumpkin donated by Elko Farm for a chance to win it! Join in the Pumpkin Roll, enjoy pumpkin decorating and much more fun! Every kid in a costume will get a goody bag! All activities are sponsored by proceeds from the Farmers' Market's Truck to Table event.  

Main-Dempster Mile Spooky Saturday - October 27

Kids of all ages are welcome to enjoy trick-or-treat with the merchants of the Main-Dempster Mile while stopping at special events along the way. Spooky Saturday will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

Bug-a-Boo Non-Scary Halloween Walk - October 27

Join Ecology Center staff for our annual Halloween event to highlight the creatures that call the North Shore Channel home. You’ll meet these characters (costumed volunteers) outside as you travel around the Ladd Arboretum and enjoy activities and snacks at the Ecology Center. This event is for children ages 2-10 and their families. Admission is $5 resident, $7 non-resident. Trunk or Treat - October 28

Kids of all ages will trick (trunk) or treat in the ETHS south parking lot. Youth sports organizations, local businesses and families will come together to get into the Halloween spirit. Random Acts of Flowers BOO-Quets - October 30

Join Random Acts of Flowers Chicago for a Halloween celebration to benefit the community. Guests will create two fall centerpieces in pumpkins – one to keep and one to be delivered to a local children’s hospital and home for women with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $45. Halloween Time Together - October 31

Join us at Time Together, Evanston’s only public open gym for young children from birth to age 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. On this special day, we will run and play as usual, but children who come to Time Together in their costumes will get in free. Miss Patti will also bring her face paints! As a special treat, families who buy a punch pass between October 24-November 2 will receive two free punches. 

Preschool Halloween Party - October 31

Wear your costume and enjoy games, prizes, music, refreshments, and non-frightening fun. This event will be held at the Robert Crown Community Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to children age 5 and under. Admission is $5 per family. Trick or Treat Toy Drive - October 31

Bring an unused new toy or children’s book to the Evanston Police Department on Halloween between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and we’ll be sure to give you a treat!  Plus you’ll get to meet a few of our officers and take a picture in our spooky squad. All donations will go to a local organization supporting women and children.
