Special Recreation 

Special Recreation is a division of the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department which is dedicated to improving the quality of life and promoting a successful leisure lifestyle for individuals with disabilities.  This is done through a variety of programs offered specifically offered to those with disabilities.

Program Information

Special Recreation programs fall into one of five categories:

  1. Special Olympics
  2. Trips/Outings
  3. After School Programming
  4. Special Events
  5. Summer Camp

Our goal within the Special Recreation division is to enhance the participant's social, emotional, physical and psycho-social lives via the programs we offer.

Ryan is the Program Coordinator who supervises year-round inclusion, after-school programs, trips and outings, and special events. Ryan is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
