Food Distribution Programs

  • Senior Meals
    The Levy Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center's Congregate Meal Program will continue to provide meals to seniors registered for the programs. Seniors unable to leave their homes may arrange for someone else to pick up meals for them. Please call 847-448-4311 to make arrangements.

  • Youth Meals
    The City of Evanston, Evanston/Skokie School District 65, and ETHS District 202 have partnered to provide food distribution services to assist those affected by school closures. Youth can pick up free, cold breakfasts and lunches at locations throughout the cityYouth can pick up five days worth of meals at one time. Meals will be grab-and-go; no meals will be eaten on site.

    Due to City closures on Monday, May 18 and May 25, youth meals distribution will take place on Tuesdays these weeks. Youth can pick up 10 free cold breakfasts and lunches on Tuesday, May 19 and 26 at four locations. Distribution will take place from 11 am to 1 pm on these days.

    Meals can be picked up at:

    • Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
    • Robert Crown Community Center, 1801 Main St.
    • Kamen Park David Wood Field house, 1111 South Blvd.
    • Mason Park, Church Street and Florence Ave.
      Produce mobile
  •  Produce Mobile
    The Greater Chicago Food Depository's Producemobile distributes free shelf-stable food and fresh fruits and vegetables on a first-come, first-served basis every second Tuesday of the month. The program is co-sponsored by Interfaith Action of Evanston and the City of Evanston.

The Producemobile is scheduled to come to Evanston from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave. For more information, please call 847-475-1150 or 847-869-0478. 

 

 

 

Summer Camp

  • Evanston summer camp programs are anticipated to open in a significantly reduced capacity on Monday, July 6, in accordance with Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is evaluating how to best operate camp programs within these health and safety guidelines and will continue to provide updates as they become available. 

    All City of Evanston summer camps scheduled to start in the month of June are canceled. Parks and Recreation staff will begin working to contact registrants to facilitate refunds or recreation household credits for all June camps beginning Tuesday, 5/26. 

    • If you are currently only enrolled in camp taking place in June, you will automatically be refunded in the method of payment.

    • Household credits due to June camp cancellations will automatically be applied to outstanding household balances for July and August camps.

    • If you no longer plan on attending camp this summer, please contact the recreation center hosting your camp to initiate a refund or recreation household credit. 

     

Refunds

We have canceled the Spring 2020 Session of programming running from March 13 through May 31st. This is due to Governor Pritzker’s executive order, which has extended the stay at home order through May 31st.

  • Refunds and credits are being giving to all programs and rentals that have been canceled due to Covid-19 from March 13 through May 31st.  If you have questions please contact the Recreation Community Center hosting your program.
