The Bureau of Capital Planning and Engineering (CPE) oversees and manages the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for all infrastructure owned by the City of Evanston. This includes projects for streets, water main, sewer, transportation, parks, buildings and water treatment and storage. Engineering work is completed by in-house staff as well as by consulting firms managed by project managers and includes studies, planning, design, and construction oversight.
Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvement Programs
The bureau manages several programs that work with residents to provide improvements to neighborhood infrastructure, such as speed humps/bumps and public sidewalks.
