Help Plant Trees in Evanston!
There are two easy ways to donate to the I Heart Evanston Tree campaign, either as a one-time donation or through Amazon Smile:
Donate to the "I Heart Evanston Trees" campaign. Help the City of Evanston plant more trees in the 2020 planting season. Your contribution goes directly towards the purchase of a new tree to replace one that has died. If you donate $25 or more, we will send you an “I Heart Evanston Trees” mug! All donations are tax-deductible.
You shop, Amazon.com gives. Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to I Heart Evanston Trees.
Since 2006, the invasive pest, Emerald Ash Borer, has claimed the lives of more than 3,000 ash trees in Evanston parks and parkways. Diseases, such as Dutch Elm Disease, and extreme weather events cause the removal of additional trees each year. Typically, over 400 trees are removed in Evanston each year; however, dozens of trees can be damaged on a single day during extreme weather events.
Trees are one of Evanston’s most valuable assets, contributing to cleaner air, reduced storm water runoff, higher property values and safer neighborhoods. Although the City’s Public Works Agency plants new trees every year, additional assistance helps sustain Evanston’s tree population and diversity for the long-term.
By donating to the I Heart Evanston Trees campaign and supporting the growth of our urban forest, you will be providing a number of great benefits to our community’s natural environment which can be enjoyed by wildlife and citizens alike. Your contribution will be recognized on our website and all donations are tax-deductible.
