Effective November 1, 2025

On July 14, 2025, the Evanston City Council approved awarding a contract to LRS to provide refuse and yard waste services to the City’s residential customer base. This change will replace the City’s current provider, Groot, while recycling collection will continue to be handled by the City’s Public Works Agency.

This page will serve as the central hub for updates, reminders, and resources related to the transition. Check back regularly for the latest information.

What to Expect Before the Transition

  • Over the coming months, the City will send mailers to impacted households with details, reminders, and any actions needed.

  • Information will also be posted here and shared via City e-newsletters and social media.
