Bent Park Field House Repairs
Project Summary:
**UPDATE**
Once the contractor began construction, the extensive deterioration of the face brick (the outer part of the walls) required that it be fully removed and replaced. During the demolition of the face brick, it became clear that the structural brick wall behind the face brick wall was also in poor condition. Rather than increase the cost of the project and risk causing significant delays, City staff and the contractor worked together to develop a zero-cost solution to replace the structural walls with new Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) walls while maintaining the schedule. The contractor is now working to get the building walls completed before it gets too cold to install the mortar needed to build a masonry wall.
The work on this project is anticipated to continue over the winter and spring, with renovation completed by June 30. Thank you for your patience! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Shane Cary, the project manager, by calling 847-448-4311 or by submitting a question through the 311 system.
