Public Comment
The City of Evanston encourages public involvement and provides an opportunity for comment at regular and special Boards, Commissions and Committee (BCC) meetings. Public participants can provide comments in person at public meetings, submit written comments electronically, or both. Comments and suggestions on any topic are welcome at any meeting.

Commenting in Person
Speakers are requested to arrive early and sign up on the public comment sign-up sheet located near the entrance of the meeting room. The BCC Chair will open public comment by announcing the allotted time provided for the comment period and for individual speakers. BCC’s generally allow 3-5 minutes for each speaker. When the Chairperson calls your name, please address the BCC on the item of interest to you.

Commenting in Writing
If you have an interest in an agenda item but are unable to attend the meeting, submit your comments via email to the staff liaison.

Requests for accommodations should be made via email to the staff liaison. Please provide your request at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
