2025 Second Installment Tax Bills Mailed by September 1, Due October 1

Property owners can now access their 2025 Second Installment Property Tax Bills online at cookcountytreasurer.com.

The Cook County Treasurer's Office will mail tax bills by September 1. Payments are due by October 1, 2026. Property owners can pay their tax bill online, at a local Chase Bank (tax bill invoice required), by mail, or at the Treasurer's office at 118 N. Clark Street, Room 112, Chicago, IL 60602.

Also, if you notice a missing exemption on your 2025 Second Installment tax bill, contact the Property Tax Assessment Review Office for assistance. Alternatively, to receive an adjusted tax bill on the spot due to a missing exemption, visit the Cook County Assessor's Office at 5600 W. Old Orchard Rd., Room #149, Skokie, IL 60077. Cook County Board of Review Appeal Deadline: September 1

For Evanston property owners concerned about their property taxes, the deadline to file a 2026 Cook County Board of Review (BOR) appeal is September 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

Property owners can file online at cookcountyboardofreview.com, and the BOR has published a helpful guide to walk through the process. This is the second and final chance for property owners to appeal their 2026 assessed value at the County level. Any reduction secured through a successful appeal will be reflected on the 2026 Second Installment tax bill, mailed in summer 2027.
