City Announces Holiday Schedules

The City has announced changes in service delivery and facility schedules in recognition of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Refuse Collection
No collections will occur on Thursday, December 25, or Thursday, January 1. If the holiday falls on or before your collection day, it is expected that services will be postponed by one day.

The City’s 311 Center will be closed on December 25 and January 1. The Center will be open on Wednesday, December 24 and 31, following its normal operating schedule.
Facilities
- The Chandler-Newberger Center will be closed December 24, 25, and January 1. The Center will close early at 5 p.m. on December 31.
- The Morton City Hall will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1. City Hall will close at 4 p.m. on December 31.
- The Customer Service Center (CSC), located at 909 Davis St., will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1. On December 31, the CSC will close at 3 p.m.
- The City’s Permit Desk, located at 909 Davis St., will be closed on December 24,25,26,31, and January 1.
- The Prieto Community Center will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1. On December 31, the ‘Let’s Play’ space will be open from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., and the center will close early at 5 p.m.
- The Evanston Ecology Center will be closed on December 24,25, and January 1. The center will close early at 5 p.m. on December 31.
- The Robert Crown Community Center will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1. The center will close early at 5 p.m. on December 31.
- The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1. The center will close early at 5 p.m. on December 31.
- The Levy Senior Center will be temporarily closed for deep cleaning on Wednesday, December 17, and will reopen on December 29 at 7 a.m. The Center will be closed on January 1. The center will close early at 5 p.m. on December 31.
- Both Evanston Public Library branches will be closed on December 24 and 25, as well as on January 1. The Main Branch will close at 5 p.m. on December 31, and the Robert Crown Branch will close at 4 p.m.
Parking
Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1) are designated as parking holidays in the City of Evanston.
Additionally, the City is once again offering a “Holiday Parking: Free for 2025” promotion. Community members and visitors to Evanston’s business districts can enjoy up to two hours of free parking daily through January 1, 2026, by simply entering the code 'Holiday2025' into the Park Evanston app. Please note: this offer is valid for Park Evanston app users once per day per account/license plate.
