Divvy Bike Share Program

Divvy is Evanston and Chicago’s bike-sharing system operated by Lyft under a contract with the Chicago Department of Transportation. Divvy rolled into Evanston in June 2016 with 10 stations and 100 bikes. Today, Evanston has a total of 31 stations, a fleet of 130 classic bikes, and approximately 100 e-bikes in circulation.

The Divvy bike share program supports Evanston's bikeable and walkable infrastructure, encourages active transportation, promotes community wellness, and advances environmental sustainability through emission-free travel. 

An annual Divvy membership is the most affordable way to use the Divvy system. We highly encourage you to sign up for the standard ($99/year) or equity($5/year) Divvy membership, which includes unlimited 45-minute rides on classic bikes and reduced per-minute prices on e-bikes. 

Riders (ages 16+) can ride Divvy classic bikes and e-bikes between Chicago and Evanston. As of 2026, Divvy e-scooters are not allowed in Evanston.

We aim to promote accessible, affordable, equitable, and sustainable transportation options for Evanston residents through the Divvy bike-share system. Qualified residents are able to purchase a year-long Divvy membership for only $5. View more information on eligibility and registration.

2026 Divvy Expansion

The 2026 Divvy Expansion added 17 new Divvy stations around the city, making Evanston’s Divvy network significantly more accessible, user-friendly, and connected to more residents and points of interest.
