Sustain Evanston Program
Sustain Evanston Applications are live!
Due to decreased City budgets, the majority of funding will go towards buildings that are covered by the Healthy Buildings Ordinance with some allocation for waste projects. HBO building projects should focus on energy efficiency or electrification. Examples include door or window replacement, insulation, electric heating or cooling, electric and energy efficient appliances, and more.
Healthy Buildings Application:
1. Check the covered buildings list to see if your property or business is covered by the Healthy Buildings Ordinance. Property owners or businesses located in HBO buildings are eligible to apply, including mixed use buildings. Please note, religious organizations and residential buildings are not eligible for Sustain Evanston funding.
2. Complete a FREE ComEd facility assessment. The business can apply to the Sustain Evanston program only once the assessment is complete. An assessment completed in the last three years is acceptable.
3. Apply for the Sustain Evanston grant!
Waste Project Application:
There are funds for new compost and recycling projects! Businesses applying for a waste related project can apply here.
Program guidelines and agreement can be found here.
