Discover a new side of Evanston Parks & Recreation—one mission at a time.

Choose Your Parks & Recreation Adventure is a year-round campaign that invites community members to explore new places, try new activities, meet the people behind Parks & Recreation, and experience the many programs, services and events offered throughout Evanston.

The campaign launches on Thursday, July 16, in celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month.

How It Works

A new Mission Briefing will be released every Thursday.

Each mission may invite you to:

• Explore a park, beach or playground
• Visit a community center
• Discover a new class or program
• Attend a Parks & Recreation event
• Meet the staff who help make it all happen
• Complete a fun challenge and share what you discover

Follow Evanston Parks & Recreation on Facebook and Instagram to receive each new mission and learn how to participate.

Complete a Mission

Every Mission Briefing will include:

Your Mission
A simple activity or challenge to complete.

Your Destination
The park, facility, program, event or online resource to explore.

Adventure Tip
An insider suggestion, helpful detail or behind-the-scenes fact.

Complete the Mission
Instructions for sharing your experience through the Evanston Parks & Recreation Facebook or Instagram post.

Monthly Adventure Giveaway

Community members who complete a mission by commenting on or submitting a photo through the Evanston Parks & Recreation Facebook or Instagram pages will be entered into a monthly Parks & Recreation-inspired giveaway.

One participant will be selected at random from eligible entries submitted during that month’s missions.

Giveaway details, eligibility requirements and submission deadlines will be included in each Mission Briefing. View terms and conditions.
