Athletic Field Permit Application
If you are interested in applying for a permit for one of our athletic fields including the Robert Crown athletic fields, please complete the Athletic Field Permit Application.
After completing the application, a staff member will follow up with you about your request.
Below is the order by which athletic field permit applications are prioritized:
- City of Evanston programs and special events
- District 65, District 202, and City of Evanston non-profit supportive organizations
- Sports Affiliate group requests
- Evanston residents / Evanston-based organizations
- Non-residents / Non-resident based organizations

Athletic Field Calendars
Below are the usage calendars for the athletic fields. The calendars will indicate when a field is permitted. If there is no permit listed for a time on a field, then the field is open for use on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Park Maps
Sports Affiliates Program
The Sports Affiliates Program establishes a fair, equitable, and cost-effective system in which to manage our limited sport field resources and administer reservations at the Parks & Recreation Department.In order to participate in the program, an organization must first complete and submit a Sports Affiliate Program Application with the required documentation.
- Sports Affiliate Program Introduction Guide outlines pertinent information regarding this process.
- If an affiliate organizations are forced to cancel field use due to a weather related issue they must notify parks and recreation staff via the available online form, Athletic Field Rainout Report, within 14 days of the occurrence.
- These cancelations include the field closures issued by the City of Evanston parks department. Any cancellation notices submitted outside of that 14-day window may not be honored.
Athletic Field Status:
The City of Evanston utilizes Statusfy to keep field users informed of when athletic fields are open or closed for play. There are a few different ways to utilize this resource:
- Download the free Statusfy mobile app for iPhone or Android and search "Evanston Parks & Recreation."
- Call 847-448-0034 to hear the status of the athletic fields.
- Visit the Statusfy website.
