Access Evanston Program: Unlock Community Benefits
Through the Access Evanston Program, residents have the opportunity to qualify for or re-qualify for various community benefits, including:
- Subsidized Transportation Program
- Wheel Tax Discount (formerly Vehicle Sticker Discount)
- Recreation Program Fee Assistance
- Yard Waste Stickers & Cart Discount
This program opens doors to these valuable community benefits for eligible residents.
Exercise Classes and Health & Wellness Classes:

For Levy Center members, there's a discounted fee for classes exclusively for those aged 55 and older.

Regular fees apply to classes designed for adults of all ages.
Fitness Room Membership Benefits:

Levy Senior Center Members: Enjoy discounted fees for fitness room access at $10 per month.

SilverSneakers Members: Access to the fitness center is free, but advance sign-up is required at the Levy front desk.
Senior Congregate Meal Program:
The City of Evanston offers two enhanced lunch program sites as part of a grant administered by AgeOptions. This grant covers the cost of each meal to ensure that no individual aged 60 and older is denied participation due to financial constraints. Here are the details:

Suggested Donation: The suggested donation for those aged 60 and older is $5.00.
We currently provide:

Daily Hot Meal (Monday-Friday): Enjoy a freshly prepared hot meal.
For more detailed information and to apply for the senior congregate meal program, please visit this link. You must call the Levy Senior Center front Desk the week before (Thursday) before to get on the list for the following week.
Grocery Shopping Days:
We have scheduled grocery shopping trips on two specific days:

Tuesday Shopping: On this day, the bus will take you to stores located at Dodge and Dempster, which includes Valli Produce, Dollar Store, and nearby restaurants.

Wednesday Shopping: This day's trip includes stops at FOOD4Less (Main Street) and Jewel (Howard Street), which are conveniently located near Target and Sam's Club.
Free Income Tax Assistance:
AARP offers free tax assistance services from February through mid-April. To schedule your appointment for the tax assistance program starting in early February 2024, please call the Levy Center at 847-448-8250.
Scheduled Senior Trips:
We offer a minimum of one trip per month for your convenience. Please note that available spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally:

Discounted Fee for Levy Center Members: Levy Center members are eligible for a discounted fee for these trips.

Dennis Newton Scholarships: Once a year, the Levy Senior Center Foundation makes Dennis Newton Scholarships available to Levy Senior Center members.
Snow Shoveling Assistance Program:
Are you in need of help with snow removal during the winter months, or are you interested in connecting with neighbors to offer your assistance with shoveling? The City of Evanston's Snow Shoveling program is here to assist:

Seeking Help: If you are an older adult or have a disability and require assistance with snow removal, we encourage you to sign up for our program.

Volunteer Opportunity: Likewise, if you're willing to provide snow shoveling services and help your neighbors, we welcome your participation as a volunteer.
Our program serves as a bridge, connecting residents in need of snow shoveling help with volunteers who are ready to lend a hand.
