The Levy Bus
The Levy family donated a 22-passenger bus to shuttle members to and from the Levy Center The bus is free for Levy Center members who live in Evanston. The bus brings Levy members to the Levy Center or for Grocery shopping in Evanston.
Levy Bus Booking Procedure:
Call either the day before or on the morning of by 8:30 am to be added to the pick-up list for that day by dialing 311 or calling 847.448.4311.
Levy Bus Schedule to and from Levy Center
The Levy Bus operates Monday-Friday bringing Levy members to and from the Levy Center from their homes in Evanston.

| 3:30 pm: | Late afternoon return route to homes |
Levy Bus Grocery Days
This service provides pick up and drop-off to select Evanston grocery stores on Tuesdays and Wednesday of each week. The bus will start pickups close to 11:30am and start the return trip approximately at 2:00pm. Please call 311 or calling 847.448.4311 to request this service.

Transportation Debit Card

Riders who qualify for Access Evanston Program can request a Transportation Debit Card.

Program participants will receive a Card on which they may load up to a certain amount of their own money each month; the City will match that amount.

Riders may then take any form of ground transportation going anywhere, provided that they have enough money on their card to pay for the full amount of the fare using their card.

Keep in mind that half of the money on the card came from the City, so the cost of the ride is split between you and the City.

Subsidized Taxicab Program:

The Subsidized Taxicab Program offers affordable transportation options for eligible seniors and residents with mobility impairments.

Under this program, coupons are available for purchase, and each coupon costs just $5 per trip.

RTA Reduced Fare and RTA Free Ride:
The Levy Senior Center is a designated RTA registration site to apply for your RTA Reduced Fare Card, for transportation service on CTA, Metra and Pace. The RTA offers two options:
Reduced Fare RTA

The RTA Reduced Fare Card enables senior citizens who are within three weeks of their 65th birthday or older, as well as qualified veterans, and qualified persons with disabilities to ride all RTA services at a reduced fare.

The reduced fare applies to the CTA, Metra and Pace fixed services.

Senior citizens can apply in person at the Levy Senior Center or online at RTA Reduced Fare. If you would like a paper copy, download here.

To apply for your RTA Reduced Fare Card, you will need to present a copy of one of the following types of identification: a driver's license, a State of Illinois ID card, an alien registration card, or a passport.

Additionally, you must provide a wallet-sized color photo of yourself for your application. Ensure that the photo does not feature you wearing a hat, scarf, or sunglasses.

The Levy Center offers a complimentary photo service during its office hours to fulfill this requirement.

The Levy Senior Center acts as an intermediary for the RTA, and you will receive your card directly from the RTA.

RTA Ride Free

The RTA senior Ride Free allows qualified individuals to ride the CTA, Metra and pace at no cost.

Applicants must be approved by the Illinois Benefit Access Program.

CTA bus routes to the Levy Center
- The CTA #97 bus stops right in front of the Levy Center. It runs between Westfield Old Orchard and Howard Street.
- The CTA #93 bus also stops right in front of the Levy Center. It runs from the Dodge/Emerson intersection to Howard Street.
- The ADA Paratransit Service is for riders whose disability or health condition may prevent them from using a fixed route service such as buses and “L” trains. This is a shared, curb to curb ride. Please call 312.681.3098 for more information.
